Boost Controller

Well I have my new turbo on and for some reason the boost just wont stay at 10 psi from the wastegate. The turbo is a big 16g and I have the vacuum off of the wastegate ran to the intake manifold. When ever I get on it it will just boost up to 16psi where I have it set to shut off on hondata. The wastegate is suppose to stop at 10 according to where I bought it at. Any ideas on why it wont stop at 10? And this setup is the same as my previous setup. Only difference is that the turbo is ported and I am not running a boost controller this time until I get a new one.

i just put my friends turbonetics boost controller on and i am running a stock big16g wastegate. i tried running it again and it still just jumps off until it hondata shuts it down. I am hoping to get this fixed soon cuz its the last thing on the list as of now.

Are you sure the wastegate doesn't have a 16lb spring in it?

run it with JUST the wastegate to test. don't troubleshoot an issue like this with multiple components in the line. make it easy on yourself.

in the first post i stated i was running off of the wastegate alone. and i just put on a boost controller because i was told the wastegate might be too small for the turbo. with the boost controller on it is still overboosting and I am out of ideas. I am going to check every vacuum line again today just to do it cause im clueless.

Oh and if i hold it down from 16lbs it runs like it did before. It isnt running weird at all just wont hold the psi down.

that wastegate shouldnt be to small for that turbo....otherwise it wouldnt be connected to the turbo.....:what:

maybe the boost controller is turned up to higher than 16psi.....try turning the boost controller down if your that worried about the wastegate being to small....

the boost controller is backed all the way out. only thing i can think of is a small leak in a vacuum line. i have replaced almost all of them so its my last hope i guess.
oh meet is on sunday so i have to fix this lol for the trip

stock gate should be 8lbs i think. lets look over how you have it connected. make sure the vac line is not blocked, pinched, broken, or clogged.

i found on the one vacuum line that it has a little splicer peice connecting the vacuum line to the blowoff valve. would this f something up? it is ziptied on both connections though so i doubt it would do anything to my knowledge.

i don't suggest running both items on the same vac source. it's best to have a strong solid vacuum for each device. one for bov and one for wastegate
