looking to boost a 96ex stock d16y8. Ive looked around and I think building a kit from scratch will save me the most cash. Just figd before I start buyn parts I should make sure I have a good list. The engine is a 80k stock motor. Let me know if I left anything out or sudg for diff parts. thanks

Turbo manifold
Turbo t3t4 .57 trim or should I go with a .63 trim
38mm 7psi wastegate external
greddy type s bov
jdm 2.5 intercooler piping kit comes with the bov and wastegate couplers clamps etc for 220 after shippn
Intercooler from ebay?
walbro fuel pump 255lp
Dsm 450cc injectors
DSM Resistor box
Boost oil temp air fuel gauges
oil lines/ vac lines
k&n cone filter
spark plugs stock or...
msd coil cap 6a box?

so theres the list will i need to do anything to my comp chips etc. what other stuff have I left out... to make good reliable power
I plan to keep the internals stock till after 125k or so then better internals + more boost = more fun

I don't know too much about boosting but from what I've read don't get an Intercooler that completely covers your radiaotr.

turbo - the trim really depends on what you want, but in all reality, that small of a difference is that great. IMO, id go with .57 trim because you already have a fairly big turbo for the size of your engine.

intercooler piping - id piece it together with mandrel bends from www.jcwhitney.com <-- great prices imo. I only spent 77 dollars shipped. Then get couplers and flanges from misc. places like ebay or road race engineering (i dont have the website off hand - just search for it on google). Instead of 220, youll spend < 150 for the same thing.

Intercooler - www.johnnyracecar.com <-- great intercoolers for a low cost that fit will on honda/acura OR search classifieds on honda-tech for one (I found a johnny race car one for $110 shipped - works great)

Ignition - stock spark plug wires or ngk are best. Stay stock imo, they work just fine & saves you money. You will need colder spark plugs (part# ZFR7F11). I found the spark plugs @ www.importrp.com for cheap or prostreetonline.com. As far as the msd box, you dont need it for now (depending on your engine management setup)

Downpipe - dont forget youll need a downpipe

Gauges - You'll need pod(s) for your gauges. Don't bother with air/fuel gauge unless you plan on getting a wideband 02 sensor. You might also want to add an egt gauge in there.

Injectors - Dont forget youll need the clips too.

Engine Management - I didnt see any engine management listed <-- THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT. You can choose from best, better, good, bad or worst. You can do the AFC hack and get the msd igntion retard box (Worst) or you can do the (Best) setup, which would be something like Uberdata/Chrome/TurboEdit etc. If I were you, id go that route. Which if you do, youll need an OBD1 ecu, conversion harness, datalogging cable. It might sound like alot more to add to your list, but it is by far the best tuning solution. Then, theres another option, you can either by a wideband 02 and chip burner and tune your motor yourself (advanced) or get it tuned and then buy an egt to monitor your tune.

After all is said, this is merely a guide from experience, the best piece of advice I can give you is to READ...

... ALOT. Feel free to ask any other question and I hope it helps.

if you are boosting on a stock internals, i would suggest you getting a spring for your wastage that is way low...like 1-2 psi and then you can control your boost with a boost controller...and i didnt see any fuel management system..apexi has a good one

As far you, after getting uberdata/chrome/turboedit, id get it professionally tuned, cause its sounds like your new to this, so youd want to go on the safe side.
