Hey guys, so my distributor took a crap and now that I have a new one I have the timing almost right but its a little off in boost. I called my tuner to ask where the timing should be set, the phone guy wouldnt let me talk to the tuner/owner of the place even though he didnt know where to set it. He wanted to know why I didnt check the timing before taking the disty off, well because the damn thing didnt work anymore moron!

So I ask, where should I set my timing on this?

is it chipped or hacked? if its chipped set it at 0, if its hacked it back like 10 degrees depending on how much boost you're pushing.

pin the service connector and set it for 16 btc.
why do I have to pin the service connector? I cant read OBD codes or anything because I dont have a factory ecu anymore so why does the service connector matter for anything? Thanks for enlightening me!

when the car is ideling it isnt necessarily at 16 degrees btdc. pinning the service connectors forces the ecu to 16*. Im assuming you are on aem ems, in which case you can lock the timing with a laptop too. im not sure if pinning the service connector makes aem ems run 16 degree's btdc. i know it does with hondata s300 and alike.
