i have a couple of questions....

1st: would i get any benefit from using a tdo5 on a b-series swap?? i just want to know becuz i happen to have one and no money so ya.

2nd: cheap management??...between uberdata and turbo edit which is better??

thats actually about it for now...but ya....it would be good if i could get some input beside "get a bigger turbo" cuz i know that already, this is just temporary til i actually get a diff setup.

1. dont expect to see big gains with a 14b. those run out of flow at about 220-230 whp.
2. turboedit is for obd0, uberdata is for obd1. crome is for obd1, and cromepro is one of the best, easiest to use obd1 rom editors. if you can swing 150 bucks, its worth it.

if you have no money, dont boost your car. you WILL run into problems, and it WILL cost more than you think it will.

ya just build it smart for ls/vtec(if you have a low budget).. either one you do, do A LOT of research

a guy in my car club put down 259whp on the stock 14b on his 1g dsm, and those things have ass for compression and the stock manifold blows too. so 220 on an ls is achieveable.

but 259 at which rpm? on somthing like the ls. youd spike out.

well i basically knew that it would be more of a street car. but like i said the turbo is just gonna be used for a little while until i actually go out and get like a t3 or something. right now wat i have is a log mani, tdo5, dsm side mount, and 1g bov. my bro is a machinist and is gonna make me the adapter plate. but i think im gonna try to go either turbo edit or uberdata. but ya....any more help would be good.

well yes, a turbo is going to get you a lot of top end power. what we mean by 'top end is going to suck' is that the turbo will run out of flow at higher rpm's, meaning the torque curve will drop off. a larger turbo will keep making torque all the way to redline.

it will be a great street car.

Less stress on axles as well, which is a bonus.

i disagree. the 14b turbo is used mostly on the d16. and even THAT is arguable as to how effective it is relative to other optiongs. the 16g would be better suited for the 1.8. i wouldent go anything less than a t3 on the b18b. case and point.
