Im getting a dohc zc swapped very soon, right at the beginning of the year actually.. and I plan to boost it of course.. Im not aiming for lots of power, just enough to make my crx move pretty quick which shouldnt be hard.. I found that GReddy kit, that runs no intercooler/no bov for my car.. I plan on getting that.. then eventually picking up a fmic and bov.. prolly an EVO VII from this kid my friend knows, hes just got it lying around.. I pretty much just want to be faster than my friends SRT4, you think this can be achieved with that kit on a zc in a gutted CRX?

depends on the setup. what kinda turbo kit are u getting from greddy? and how much boost u plan on using. Yes u have a lighter car so u have that advantage but its all in the setup. which turbo are u running?

exactly, but before boost (becuase i know your gonna wanna run around 9psi) u should build. if u build u have a less chance of breaking a weak zc rod and youll be faster

yeah. forged internals, such as, pistons, rods, maybe some arp bolts, thicker head gasket, and dont know if you wanna roll with your stock or turbo cam. Dont wanna be rollin down the road and boooom. your done. But again with that and a decint setup with a properly tuned fmu u should be straight.

a stock bottom end dohc zc can easly handle 7psi, adn lay down 188hp at the wheels, but that's with the full 92-95 civic greddy kit including fmic and bov, i would not suggest running that turbo on the car though till you have abov atleast.

:werd: Funny this subject came up...I was doing some research and read many times that a DOHC ZC could handle up 200HP but not over on stock pistons and rods...

i ended up running 10psi on mine before the #3 rods bent, so i'm sure at that point i was over 200hp.

the 92-95 greddy kit was originally designed for the dohc zc in japan, but since we never got that motor it was sold in teh US for the 92-95 civic EX, but you have to grind the flanges on the manifold to fit perfectly, but it'll work wonders with that kit.

I looked around a bit, but it seems all the greddy kits I found didnt include an intercooler.. know anywhere off hand where I could find it?

If you're trying to save money, head to a junkyard.

You can piece together piping if you can find an SMIC.
It'll even be more of a sleeper =)

yeah Ive thought of that lin, but I dunno.. thought of obtaining a hf manifold and dsm parts.. but I think a kit would be better for me overall.. but who knows, plans might change..

i 'm going ot have to say if he doesn't beat a srt-4, which i think he will, then he'll atleast give them a run for their money, the thing is ya gotta remember is hp to weight ratio.

the weight is what Im relying on.. my crx is gutted.. nothing behind the seats.. no carpet.. sometimes only one seat, haha.. plus I weigh 135-138..
