boosting help

I have a 99 civic with a D16Y8 with an AEM intake and auto tranny.. I would like to turbo it someday shortly, and wanted to know a few things....
1. whats the most boost i could run with stock motor???
2. do i have to run an intercooler with the turbo, or can i go without an intercooler??

since its an automatic, i would only wanna run around 160-170whp anyways so thats like 6-8 punds on a greddy kit or with a dsm t25. the auto tranny is killing you.

no u dont need an intercooler for those kind of power goals.

1. not sure on an auto tranny but i know a stock d series motor can handle around 200-220whp.....which is usually around 8-12 psi depending on the turbo and the tune.

2. you dont need an intercooler for anything less than 5psi in my opinion....BUT you man as well get one though....it cools down the boost b4 it goes into the intake mani.
