Whats the name of the stuff you can get in home depot thats for roofing but works as a sound deadener? I went in there yesterday and i saw some stuff that kinda looked like dynamat called ice water or something to that effect, and it looked like a giant black fruit roll up

Why come in, ask a question, find your answer... but not share with the rest of us? One day someone else might have the same question and search for it and find this thread.

how did it work for you?...i am looking at "fatmat" on ebay...cost vs return of investment...classic debate...a good friend told me that rubber sub flooring and spray glue is what they (his shop he managed) used in some applications...he told me to get it from a tile/flooring store (not homedepot...i already checked)...

i had the REAL dynamat in my old civic, on the outside shell of front doors and inside shell of front doors, (in a sedan) it does alot for reducing outside noise believe me. I realized it the day i did it, and the day I got my new civic after my last one got totalled I remembered how amazingly quieter my car was. Oh yeah if you do it on the inside layer it serves as an extra anti theft mechanism because you block the holes that thieves slim jim your doors through, just don't lock your keys in your car or you are SCREWED!! hahaha

Do you mean that rear deck section? I posted a repair for that awhile back... If I remember correctly, small pieces of foam are put between the rear deck and the other plastics it comes in contact with.
