For some unknown reason, when I turn on my driving lights, my brake lights also go on. Along with this problem, when I am driving during the day (no lights) and I press my brake pedal, the brake lights go on, but so does my dash lights and parking lights. Also, my cruise control just stopped working. When i push the button, the light doens't go on and thus doesn't work. Not sure if all these are connected, but they seemed to happen all at the same time. My car is a 97 civic ex. Where should I look first or better yet, what the hell is wrong with my car???????? thanks for any suggestions/help.

something is crossed. check fuses?
That is what I assumed, but hoped it wouldn't be. I checked all fuses and no problems there. I had my dad pump the brakes and the brakes lights went on with lights on. Not sure if it was always like this, becuase I never actually saw it, people just told me about it. However, when I push the brake pedal with the lights off, the dash lights still go on. I guess I have no choice but to go through all the wires and make sure no shorts or grounds. I just wished it would be easier.
... and the cruise control still doesn't work, but the fuse was fine.
okay, I just tested it out at night and the rear red lights are very bright, brighter than normal. When I press the brake pedal, they do get brighter. This actually might be better becuase people can still see when i brake and they will also not be able to tail my ass, haha. Still something is f'd up. any suggestions to make this easier??? Somewhere the wires must be crossed that makes the dash lights and parking lights come on everytime I press the brake pedal. any help on that?
