Hey guys,

I'm not sure whether this is a sign of worn break pads or not. I looked online and it says you have worn brake pads if you press on the brakes AND THEN you hear a squeal. But in my case, when my foot IS NOT on the brake, i hear a squeal kind of sound. When I apply my foot on the brake pedal, the noise goes away. What could this be?

Thanks in advance! :thumbs up

multiple things, bent dust sheild, brakes are worn or blown, or the pads have come loose from the housing. On your ads their is a line down the mille that makes your brake pads look like two peices, this line is a wear mark, itf it is close to this line, at, or even with then the pads need replacing.

Also if its not your brakes check your wheel bearings!!! i had this issue with my truck once, i thought it was my brakes too...but what was happening was it was squealing cuz the wheel was rubbing on everything it wasnt supposed to and when i hit the brakes, the brakes would sorta realign the wheel lol....i know it sounds crazy but it is true...so while you have it jacked up and checking the brakes try wiggling your wheel and see if it is wobbly, if it is you have bad bearings
