So, this is the frame undernearth all the fabric / padding of a SRD recaro copy (driver's seat). The seat was in a car that got totaled & I picked up the seats even though the driver side was broken. It was tweeked pretty bad and broken in two places along with the frame being bent. As pictured in pic #5, the red is were it broke and the blue indicates the bent main crossbar. The main frame was pushed in (the outer broken part is where the frame brackets need to line up to)

1) Is this fixable in anyway? We've though about welding it, but thoughts are that there'd be too much pressure in attempting to weld it as the welds would be "holding" the frame in a new position, different from what it bent to, thus possibly snapping the welds.

2) If not fixable, where's a place to buy a new seat frame?

Thanks..

ouch! i say cut off the ent/ broken part, measure out the length and width of it, and go to home depot and get some metal pipe. weld the correct lengths of piping onto the original seat frame, and "make a new front piece of frame". thats what i would try. good luck tho man!

Yeah, I was thinking of getting one of the expansion bars, where you'd put a bar in between both sides and turn the knob which continues to expand the bar, until they line up, then weld it and hope it holds, I just really want to make sure the welds wont be f*cked cause of all the force on em, esp. since its a safety issue.
