I'm just wondering , I just got some cash enough to get a new car . I've been trying to sell my 2001 civic ex to get a car that I can turn to really fast car. I never had any car with turbo or had engine swapped before. I don't really know what kind of problem can possibly happen by doing so. What I knew was those B series engines have more advantages than D-series engines. So if ya'll can just give me some advice about my dilemma , I will really apreciate it.

well, since swapping in a b series into your 01 civic is impossible, the only choice still available would be to get a 00 si. so there you have it.

you wana go faster? get a 92-95 hatch and put a b18c5 into it. there's always something faster. he was asking about an 00 si though, not a 92-95 hatch.

if you got the $$$, i'd say search for a wrecked rsx type-s & drop a K20 in your civic

that's going to cost a lot more than a 00 si.

but it would be sick as hell, str8 sleeper status man, no one expects the new civics to have k20's in them

who the f**k are you......? his f**king conversation filter?

he said he just wanted to get a car that he could "turn to really fast car." also, if he was talking about an si, he wouldn't be asking about d-series motors would he you prick noob?

and, if you wouldn't mind, go back and read the thread title...... then you may go and feel like a true jdm moron.

actually dumbass, its quite easy. a mount kit and a standard complete swap is all thats needed. now shut the hell up when it comes to things you are obviously clueless about.

the only b i think you could even maybe put into an 01 civic would be the b18c1 from a 2001 gsr ... cause dont swaps gotta be same year or newer? What other b's were still made 2001 and newer ... i was under the impression that everything is K series now.

honda stopped making the b series in favor of the k, yes. and a swap has to be the same year or newer to be legal . otherwise, swapping a b into a 7th gen is similar to swapping a d for a b in any other gen civic, its pretty straightforward. and ill see what i can do to find some pics. but i assure you that its harder to swap a k than it is a b.

its not about that, its that there's no kits to make them fit. nothing lines up right, everything would have to be custom made. k series are easier to fit, and they're coming out with kits for them now.

k series are still somewhat of a b***h ... i think even with the custom making everything, you would still come out cheaper swapping a b into a 7th gen ... check the link i posted to superhonda earlier in this thread .... contains a lot of good info about swappin a k.

If you wanna go really fast....and you don't like civics.....the cheapest way to go is to get a fox body mustang, or a 4th gen mustang GT. You can go in a straight line easy enough....but don't count on handling, fuel economy, resale value, or longevity with a mustang. I think civics make great start cars, and good road racing cars...can be made fast in a straight line, but really shine in the corners. I don't like mustangs, camaros, or vettes, but for the price in each category you can't beat the factory performance. my 2 cents
