Well, I made the mistake 2 years ago for my first car and bought an automatic. Never planned on doing anything with it...then slowly started making cosmetic adjustmets - and now well, I want to upgrade it. But thats worthless in an auto.

So i'm going to sell my 98' civic SI (ex), looking around locally I think I can get 7.5-8K canadian around here selling it, since its in good condition and only has 119,000KM on it (73943 miles)

May end up looking in the US to pick up a new one, I still want a 6th gen, How much do they go for generally in the US? Just want to make sure its worth my while - and also the US has much better climate than where I live (winnipeg), our streets are s**t, and the amount of salt and sand we throw on our streets really destroys cars.

Would it be worth it to come down and buy there?

Just a few examples on civic in my area for sale...

2000 SIR, 99419 miles (160000 km) for $9,900
1998 SI (ex) 73321 miles (118000 km) for $7,500.00

Its around the same here buddy. Most of the 6th gens dont go below $4,000, unless they're crappy. We also have the same rust problems because of salt. The further south you go the better the cars.

the only reason really to go south/stateside would be rust issues

just do an suto manual swap and youll be fine. there are a bunch of how to's on here. think about that before you sell it.
