Where is it located? and how often should I change it? My car has around 59K miles on it and I can smell sometimes smoke/car exhaust in heavy traffic.

Interesting. Yeah it might have a filter, but its sure not going to stop the smell of exhaust and smoke from getting in your car when you have the heat/ a/c sucking in from outside........

oh and IF you have one it should be on the passenger side in a black box, you should be able to see the filter actually.

thats from a 98 ex 5mt.... the only thing that could be a filter judging by that is the weird radiator thing... also called a heater core. i believe there is a foam thing over it to catch moisture. hmm... i just cant seem to find a cabin air filter for a 98 civic lol so i am concluding there isnt one.

the smell u cant do anything about. its going to happen, the filter will not purify the SMELL or get rid of the FUMES. its there to catch debri just like a normal air intake filter for your engine
