CAI for charge piping

Im low on cash but I really want to get my car boosted soon. I was thinking about buying an eBay 1 piece CAI and using it for the top part of the charge piping. Then after that, use something like what's on stock GST's as charge piping from there. It would still look great under the hood and I can JB Weld my BOV to the CAI. I've heard of several people doing this. What do you guys think? Good idea or bad idea? If it's bad, tell me why. And is 3" piping to big?

WOAH!! Ive made piping from the intercooler to the throttle body out of CAI piping bc its aluminum and it looks great but ur still gonna need something to made the 90% transition from the intercooler and then up to the CAI. JB welding the BOV on is out of the question IMO. Suppose ur BOV blows off while ur driving? I would say just save up and do it right the first time man. Ur asking for alot of time on the side of the road.
