I recently purchased a generic cold air intake off of ebay because I figured I should spend more money on buying an exhaust. I'm pretty sure I installed it corecctly but when i push on the gas at a certain angle, a high whistling sound comes out. What do you think could be causing the problem?

this whistling sound is coming from the air being sucked in by your new conical filter. it is perfectly normal, and is a sound you will learn to love.

Well when I gas it at a certain level, it keeps on making the high pitch whistling noise until I give off or give more of the gas. Did I install it wrong?

nothing is wrong shizzznittz, unless you feel there's a vacuum leak.

Hmm. Well the CAI didn't come with any installation manuals. I had a question though. the CAI came with 4 clamps. I know one of them is used where the filter connects to the filter but where do the other 3 go? Two on the part where the intake and the head connects? or 2 on where the 2 intake pieces connect?

you should only really need three

2 clamps should go on the connector part (i forgot the name of it... the hose i guess) one that clamps the intake onto the rubber hose and the other to the TB (throttle body)

then one more which secures the filter onto the intake tube... thats really it

yep....what SeanJohn said. the whistle sound that you are describing sounds more like an actual whistle, than the intake noise the rest of teh peeps are talkin about. you might want to check your intake, and make sure everything is tight. all the clamps should be on there pretty good, so no air can get in other than thru the new air filter. it kinda sounds to me like something is loose, and air is being sucked into the intake or TB via a hole, and not going thru the filter.

When you say you push on the gas and you hear the whistling sound, is your car slugish like, or is your car movin. If your car is accelerating at normal, or better than normal, than that whistle is good. If not, you may have a whole other problem entirely.
You also, like everyone else said, prolly just need to check if you have a leak. If you havent already tried----try poppin your hood, and with the engine runnin(DUH), rev your engine with the throttle, and listen for any suction/whistle sounds. If you just hear it coming from the filter, than you should be good to go----no leak. But.... well im sure you already know. Jus make sure everythings tight.
Also lets see engine pics for reference
