question:
I am swapping for a b18c in the near future and I am probably going to build it at least a little before I drop it in. I want to run NA for a while and then either super or turbocharge it. my question is what kind of cam should I go with? does it make a big difference what kind of cam is needed with each kind of forced induction and naturally aspirated?

ok go.

Really???? From 127? I somehow doubt it. Thats an extra 173HP. The SC better be spinning mad fast....... Another 100HP yeah, but nearly 200.......I dunno.

Oops, missed that. just saw EX in his profile thing...Ok so 185 (assuming its a GSR) it will be close. SC are supposed to be good for about 50% more power I thought....

Just go turbo, a turbo scavenges off the exhaust side, doesnt need lubrication, and has no belts to stretch... a supercharger is a parasite on the intake side, needs regular lube, and belts you have to replace... superchargers suck!

building a gsr motor should put it a little over 200 hp. 50% more than that is 300. come on man.

building a gsr motor doesnt give it any power genius.
it just makes it stronger for forced induction
if u only want 300hp get rods and pistons and u should be fine with ur d

putting a more aggressive cam in most certainly does give it more power genious. team that with ported or upgraded manifolds and you can sit right at 200 hp no problem I would think. and lighter flywheel and clutch will put the power to the ground more efficiently.

why are you people like this? how much of the work have you actually done yourself on your car ravage? I bet not a lot if you are like most of the other people here.

jrsc wont make anywhere near 300 hp, at least not without the endyn upgrades. get a turbo, much better suited to our motors.

I never give the first bash. and I may be new to the site, but I have had my car for 6 years and every bit of work that has been done to it has been by my hands. read any thread I have posted in. people bash me, I bash back, mostly because they are stating their opinion as fact, or because they are missinformed. either way, I think it would do us all a world of good to be civil to eachother.

there are differnent cams for different types of boost. first he needs to decide if he's going to supercharge or turbocharge
