I know there is a thread like this but that one is about which cams are best.

My question is this, I have Jdm ITR cams in right now but i am going to turbo so should i put my stock ones back in or just keep hte ITR's in?

I am asking this because i have a couple of friends that work at full-race and they said the cams for turbo are usually just keeping the stock cams in.

Or should i sell the ITR's and put some GSR's in?
thanks

gsr's are the best b series cams for boost. that being said, there are still gains to be made by using boost specific cams, but gsrs are a pretty good start.

I'm having problems finding turbo cams as well. I'm probably going to have to get some custom spec cams from Comp or VT ($$$ :( )

Handlebarsfsr -Any thoughts ;)

Most companies dealing with mustang cams, have VERY VERY little experience with turbo cams, so most of the time they just suggest using their blower cams. Most of the time, stock cams are better than a supercharger cam (at least with the mustangs)

Was that a redundant question, or was there really a question in there that i just missed?

s/c cams usually arent good for turbo, at least in the domestic sense. they look much like n/a cams, which is bad for turbo. you might ask around to see if anyone will make you a custom grind, like email crower, comp, and such, and see if they would be willing to use you as a guinea pig to test turbo cams. if you try using specs from import turbo cams as a start, you might have some luck. otherwise, the stockers probably arent half bad, or having them slightly reground to lessen the overlap, increase the lift, and increase the lobe separation angle certainly wouldnt hurt. on full built turbo drag motors, guys have made 500+ whp on stock gsr cams.

I'll probably end up going with a custom ground cam from either Comp, or VT (who is making great news in the ford modular market). Reground stockers sound way too troublesome. There are a few companies that do regrinds, but i've heard some bad stories, and i'd rather not have to worry about shimming them.

I would leave the stockers in and just keep upping the boost, but sooner or later i would like to up the power to the 600+ level, and since i'm going with some headwork and upping the rev limiter, the cams would most definately help make some power in the upper rpms. And since the heads are going to be off anyway, what better time to upgrade cams?

Ok let me reword it. Why are you on a civic forum when you own a mustang?
I've been here for quite a while (over a year now), and i've stuck around mainly because of the people here, and i get to learn a little about civics. I was slightly joking around when i asked about my cams, i didn't really expect to get a good tech response =)

Well im glad to see everyone stayed on topic haha j/p

Yea i am getting hte GSR's because i cant afford crowers i know they make cams specifically for turbos like Skunk2's turbo cams but after the turbo and Bov and hondata i wont have enough for those i will only be able to get the GSR's.

When i get hte GSR's should i get new valve springs and valve train or can i leave the b16 stock valve train and valve springs in, keep in mind i dont have unlimited money so if i can put them in without haveing to change them i would rather do that.
