Ok, I now this kinda sounds stupid but I was thinking about trading a friend for another chipped p30. But there have been 3 motors already that blew up when they had that ecu on. But all of those people said that something else went wrong, and it wasn't the ecu. My question is, can a ECU really make a motor blow?

if you remove the revlimiter, and add or subtract to much fuel.

Keep in mind the ECU is what tells your engine at what air:fuel mixture to run at any given RPM. If that ECU leans your motor...BAM! Detenation.

If the ecu blew up similar motors to what you have.. then don't get it.

The ecu has everything to do with how the motor runs and if it blows up in most cases.

Manufatures make the rev limit much much lower then the car can take. Thats not saying it is a good idea to remove the limiter and rev it to 10K all the time. I have seen B series rev safly to 10K, but the question is how long can it take that. My budy bent a valve at 11K, in under a sec.

Yes. It almost blew up Sk8shorty017's car. We also fried the chip. And then the new one was for an automatic transmission when he has a manual. The car overheated. We let it cool down. Drive ten feet, and repeat this process till we get back to his house.

Be careful with your chips. How they're programmed can be severely detrimental to the life span of your engine.

Also...the ECU controls the rate at which your engine burns fuel and such. Get too much fuel, and flood the engine. Get too little, make it burn too hot and blow out your ignition system, and potentially start a fire. Mess up the electronic timing and your motor can blow. There are a lot of variables, and little margin for error.
