Can alarm control factory keyless entry?

I have an aftermarket stereo installed in my '98 EX Coupe. I don't have the original stereo anymore, so I can't do the harness mod thing.

Can I get an alarm installed and have it control my keyless entry instead? Is there a way to tap into the motors/relays without having to use the OEM parts?

I also can't use the dome light anymore either... is there a fix for that, along with the alarm installation?

I asked this same question before. I now have an aftermarket stereo and an aftermarket alarm. I have keyless entry that works and the dome like can be rewired by cutting certain wires in the stock harness and hard wiring them. So to answer your question: Yes

yes there is. whomever putting in your alarm system should be able to interface the lock motors when they install it.

depending on which alarm system you get, you should have a "dome light supervision" option that turns on the dome light when the alarm is de-activated.

Ahh I'm rackin my brain, because I've done this numerous times when I worked at Circuitycity. (years ago lol)

If you can find a stocker w/ code it'll be fine andI know there's a split harness (Metra) which runs both radios at the same time, you just have to tuck the stocker away in the dash in order to keep the factory keyless entry because it's in the radio.

With out the stocker for the dome light, there's a green/red and green/black wire that are supposed to be cut and put together in order for the dome light to work. Don't quote me on any of this as I just woke up and haven't done this type of work in a while.

Ok did a mini search for you. According to Velocity Motors a "Blue" or "Black " Wire needs to be grounded in order for the keyless entry to work.
