A few months ago I bought a 99 civic ex, check engine light has always been on and I checked it and its the vtec code well as it turns out my vtec car didnt get a vtec engine when the engine was swapped out by the previous owner so the rev limiter kicks in at 5000rpm and it has a high idle good news is I didnt pay very much for the car bad news is that its starting to bother me, is there a was to bypass the vtec or am I stuck with it this way till i can afford to swap the head to a vtec one. thank you for your help
