Can you re map my ecu - D16Y8 UK 1996

hi everybody i must apologies for all my recent rookie questions am jst curious and i am sure u dont mind helping out with advice,

is there any difference from a remap to getting it chipped or can i do both, or is there jst a better ecu i can buy and plug and play?
