Can you re-use internals on blown motor?

Say for example I have a turbo on a d16y8 and I want to boost it up. So i forge the interals a make a lower compression. Lets say a year later my motor detonates. Can i strip off all the interals and pistons and rings and rods and what not and install them on the new motor (d16y8) or would they be destroyed and not useable?

If your engine blows up, chances are they will be fried... that's usualy what happens when the engine lets go lol. You'll probably either lose a rod, or the rings, or something like that. Generally when one thing goes it causes some collateral damage.

it depends. you dont "forge" the internals, you get new forged units. its a different way of creating the unit entirely than stock cast. many times you are able to re-use parts, depending on what blew. if you cooked a piston and melted the ring land, chances are the rods are still good. if you throw a rod, sometimes the piston is still good. if you spin a bearing, sometimes the pistons and/or rods are still good. all depends. moral of the story is dont blow your s**t up in the first place by being stupid and not getting it tuned.

Usually its a domino effect in the engine. I wouldn't risk guessing. Get the parts checked out.

how hard is it to have a stock greddy turbo kit on your car... i know the basics of the turbo i just wasn't sure if you could reuse some of the parts of your internals...

the parts you decide to buy are mostly based on how cool they look.

if you blow you motor its 99.999999999999999% that your internals are fried/bent/broken/destroyed.

what? are you serious? that is one of the dumbest things i have ever heard.
re-using the internals from a blown motor is like taking a s**t and then eating it again.

i thought sence you put in aftermarket internals that they would be strong enough to last through a blown engine depending on what goes wrong...
