I purchased a 95 Civic LX with a D15B7 engine, plainly marked, with a blown head gasket.Original engine was previously replaced with a used engine by previous owner. No idea what year/make. Purchased a rebuilt head from E-Bay. Head that was on engine was a pm3-12, 16 valve, SOHC. Head replacement is a pm9-1, 16 valve, SOHC. At the same time I've replaced the WP, timing belt and tensioner with Honda oem parts. The crank gear and cam gear are the original with 38 teeth on cam gear, 19 teeth on the crank gear and 19 teeth on the WP. Timing belt also oem has 106 teeth. I've lined up the cam gear timing marks with the top of the cylinder head and the crank at TDC and verified #1 piston at the top of it's travel with crank gear and oil pump cover marks at least 5 times. The engine runs but can't set ignition timing to specs because dizzy is at the full advance position and won't go far enough to set timing correctly. Pulled dizzy mount bolts out and was able to set timing correctly but not able to secure dizzy. And yes, I did jump out the black and brown wires next to the glove box to set timing. I've seen similar threads but the answer is always "cam timing is off". I HAVE verified cam timing..........please someone advise
