Is there any way that a aftermarket alarm cause an ingition coil to burn up? My friends dad says that he has herd from people that car alarms have been a problem dealing with a car not starting because it pops the ingniton coil pack. I personaly don't see how it could happen unless an unexperienced person installed the alarm wrong somehow. I am asking because i have an alarm and i have had a distributor go out and a ignition coil pop in this same month and he blames it on the alarm. I told him he was crazy but i did ask if all those cars had remote start because i don't. I just have the standard alarm. I think i am just having bad luck with my distributor going out and buying a used one and the ignition coil going bad a week later. One more question. What all could cause an ignition coil to go out. Thanks for any feedback that i get from you guys.

Not if it's properly installed.

If you go all wire monkey under dash you will f**k s**t up, but as a rule the alarm will not damage anything if it is properly installed.
