car alarm wiring...

I hooked up an alarm in my 96 civic ex yesterday...it worked fine for like 10 minutes then the siren stopped working. It chirps when i put it in and out of valet mode...other than that all the key fob does is unlock/lock the doors. I wired all the wires according to previous posts on here...except i wired the door trigger and door input wires together to the door trigger wire in behind the radio. Could this have the brain to my alarm not responding all of a sudden? The alarm was under warranty so i should have another by friday

the alarm instructions call for door input and door trigger...all the wiring diagrams i've seen only list door trigger wire...where does the door input wire from the alarm go!?

probably doesnt, your kit might have an extra wire for a different car. remember that alarm kits are designed as universal so some wires will not get used since its an older car. try hooking up the wires to the door trigger independently(2 times, try one wire at a time) and see what the results are.
