Car blowing out blue smoke sometimes

i just had a engine built and sometimes when I start the car blue smoke comes from the tailpipe.the engine is a ls block with itr 11/7 compression,all race bearings,and a built older b16 head and type r intake.the guy that built the block said that the valve guides need to be replaced soon and refresh on the head if it can be done because of the clearance.does this sound right and it also blows black smoke when I really get on it heard But I thinks that's because the tune is a little rich and is there a way to post a pic from your phone with out using photobucket

Blue smoke would be the valve guides..

but sounds like you need a tune really bad. Black smoke shouldnt be coming from an NA car. your super rich if thats the case.


Hopefully you didnt wash the rings.

Just got it tuned and there is not a lot of back Mike just a little when I'm in the higher rpms

Ohh, then thats the WOT map.. Im assuming you dont have an AFR gauge since you didnt mention any real facts.

Is it a puff of blue smoke, or does it just smoke until it warms up.

No I don't have a gauge and it's just a puff of blue smoke
