car overheating need help please!!!!

so here is the deal my car is overheating. i dont know why?
everytime i drive on it for a couple miles the temp gauge shoots up so i turn my car off and the temp stays all the way at the top. sometimes when i press my brake it shoots up too. i have no idea whats going on and ANY helpl would be greatly appreciated.

I would check your antifreeze levels and the thermostat if both are good it kind of sounds like a short

agree. check all of your hoses. make sure nothing is unpluged, has water damage (like your temp reader wires) also be sure there are no holes in your hoses nor radiator. that could play a big role it it as well.

The easiest thing to do is just use your eyes and hands. Look for anything out of the ordinary. Check your fluid level. If it's low, you may want to burp the system to make sure all the air is out.
