Car rattling

I got into a minor wreck on friday.....its got some noise comin from the motor. When i let off the clutch it makes the rattling noise but when i put the clutch down the rattle stops. Anybody got any idea what it could be?

it might be your headers... it sounds like a vibration rattle... ever since i put my headers on.. ive had a rattle whenever i let off the gas usually

it only rattles when i let off the clutch....when im just idleing it doesnt rattle as long as i have my clutch down.

it would rattle when you are letting off the clutch because the engine is being put under a load. when the engine is idiling with the clutch disengaged there is no load on the engine. it could be a heat sheild starting to get loose. if it is a tinny should then it could be a heat sheild

well i had just got into the wreck and it started then. I just wanna make sure its nothing serious.

went to a shop today and finally got the hood open.....the rattling was from 2 busted motor mounts.

Well a person who knows about there car, would have known it was motor mounts. You will lose LOTS of power with broken motor mounts. Engine movement is not your friend.

whoa hold up i have the same damn rattling and its nevewr been in a wreck that i know of, i always thought it was the clutch, depressed clutch pedal no sound, released clutch pedal, racket insues. so what you all are saying is it could be motor mounts? is this a visible problem or what? because i cant see s**t wrong with the mounts. i think i hust had a mild stroke right there. how much did it cost to repair?

i havent repaired anything yet...i got a lil frame damage thats gotta be straightened out. The mount thats rattling is the bottom one on the drivers side of the car. Its been ripped outta place and is barely sitting there. Its the one that looks kinda like a metal rod attaching to the frame. Then the mount on the top drivers side is cracked all the way through. I can post some pics op of it l8r.

If u look at the radiator mounting peices and fan peices u can see how far over my frame got moved ...

If it's not your motor mounts, check you oil pan for tightness. Two of my friends had the exact same problem occur to them within a week of each other...

thanks absolute for your response. its dark here now but i plan to get to the bottum of it tommarrow with my honda buddy.
