My car has been running t*** up until now. I drove to tacobell while waiting in the drivethru for my food my car dies. It starts back up after a minute of cranking then I drive to the Ampm across the street and it dies again. Now it won't start at all and is at the Ampm tell I can work on it more tomorrow. I pulled the spark plug and it isn't getting any spark. Is it possible the the coil took a s*** out of nowhere with no warning I am new under the hood and any help or comments would be very much appreciated. 94 Del sol with a b16a Thanks Paul

ICM I had the same s**t happen in my hatch. The reason it died and after a minute started up again is due to heat dissipation on the ICM. It overheated then cooled down a bit when the car died so it started back up again. 100 bucks and 15 minutes of your time and your back on the road!

Does CEL remain on steady with the key in ON(II)? Any CEL codes? Does the fuel pump prime?

The battery is still good everything else works fine just won't turn over. I am going to listen closely to see if I can hear the fuel pump prime today but because its at a Ampm its kinda hard to hear anything. I did the thing when u put the paper clip in the green thing. sorry don't know what the green thing is called and the Cel just stays on solid so I didn't know what that meant.

Without the service connector jumped, does CEL remain on steady with the key in ON(II)? Click CEL link in my signature.

Remove the fuel fill cap and put your ear to the hole. Then have a buddy turn the key from off to ON(II). You should hear the fuel pump make a buzzing noise for 2 seconds.

When its not jumped it will come on for about 2secs then go off when Jumped stays on let me make sure I am supposed to jump the two blue connecters together correct ??

Ok so I've changed coil, main relay ,icm and idk wtf.my battery is shot but it won't take a jump or push start so I doubt that is the problem. I'm at my end I've checked all the fuses and all are good. The fuel pump comes on and I can feel the injectors pulse but there is just no spark

Test whether the Blk/Yel wire attached to the coil and ICM has battery voltage when the key is turned to ON(II).

Do these other input tests as well:

Did you fix it? If not, did you test the Yel/Grn wire?

Did you take the ICM to AutoZone for testing?
