So i just stopped in RadioShack the other night while i was waiting for my Chinese food. and i happened to see that they have a cb radio for only $49....i thought about it and thought it could be kinda cool to have one....if i mounted it in my glove compartment that wouldnt be obvious out in the open...my only question is the antennae. would it be possible to pull down my radio antennae and run the cb radio in its place?

breaker breaker one nine good buddy you got the bandit come on....

I haven't seen a CB in a long time. Some of the ropers in school had them and would play a kind of hide and seek game. I think they used signal strength. :what:

I'm sure you could replace your radio antenna with a CB antenna. It would take some work.

there used to be an adapter to turn the factory antenna into a cb antenna, but i havent seen one in years. when i had a cb in my civic, i just mounted the antenna to my roof rack.... looked like a remote control car.. it was a hell of a lot of fun on road trips... they do make small glass mount antennas for the cb's as another option.

Heres how i used to have mine mounted:

I would call hmotors or icb, hell password maybe even. See if they got a Gathers cb in the back. it just might come with the parts needed to do so.

They usually have their own speaker.

I wouldn't want all that distortion going through my car speakers

to get the best signal, u're gonna have to get one of those mast antennas (yes, the ones that sit up like 4 feet in the air)

you can get the temporary magnet mount ones that stick up maybe 2 feet, but reception wont be that great...but it'll work...

i had a cb/pa in my truck, it was pretty sweet....somehow on a clear day picked up a guy in California (i'm in VA) and had a chat.
