i pulled out the main cable plug from behind the cd player to fit on some additional speakers wires. At this stage i only checked the wire colours on the cable plug but did not fit the speaker wires.. i reinserted the cable plug back in to the cd player, (and checked to see its in properly) but now the cd player display remains blank.. i've checked the fuse and there is power going in to the unit, the cd ejects and loads and the lights come on but the cd player does not switch on or play and there is no request for Security CODE (which i have)

the cd player/ radio unit is for the 2003 civic model and its the default CD player that comes with the car.. i also disconnected the battery and put it back in and connected it still no luck sum1 help PLEASE !

Check all the fuses in the car and under the hood. There are several fuses for the radio power cause it has a constant power for memory and an accessory power to turn the radio on and off with the ignition. If all fuses are good then unplug the radio and check the pins in the radio to make sure you didn't accidently bend one while reinserting the plug.

i didnt realise my car had back speakers and cut my shelf and fitted on sum 6 x 9's so i thort id pair the 6 x 9s with my back speakers.. i took off the main cable plug 2 check the colouring of the wires to see what represents what..

the pin hasent bent as it still fits into place nicely.. ive checked it.. i also checked the fuse underneath the dashboard.. Number 7 is for the cd player and that hasent blow.. ui checked to see if any of the wires have come loose but hasent... the cd player powers up as the lights come on .. the disc light comes on and so does the anti theft light come on so theres defo power going in to the unit.. its the fact it doesnt ask for a CODE!!

Shouldn't be an anti theft problem since it doesn't say code. Once you get all power to it though it should ask for the code.

Maybe just your display is out. You could always try to enter the code the way its supposed to and try turning it on. I have seen displays on those just take a crap.

Don't really know what else to tell ya. If you have connected any additional wires like what I thought you mentioned in the beginning then remove them and reset the radio by unplugging it for a few minutes and reconnecting it. If that doesn't do it then I'm all out of ideas unless I was there to test it myself.
