CEL light

I was j/w how you check the cel on a gen5 civic? Ive done my serch and the only thing i could find was on the gen6. I removed the intake manifold yesterday to replace the water house that runs under the intakemaifold into the head. now it smells like its burning mad oil. I just went to autozone and they will not check it, cuz its not a gen6. any ideas on how the hell to check it? thank you for the help.

Check your hose connection again, make sure its not leaking any oil or coolant. You might have also inadvertently knocked out a hose connection in the vicinity, so look around for any open nipples as well.

dunno how much that helps but I know there's a way to jumper the ecu. I dont have the link for that one.

what the hell.....no one knows how to??????? i cant get the light cheacked any were, and i dont have the money to just replace everything untill i get it right,,,,,so i need to know how to check it. thanks.
