Chassis Codes

Does anyone know where i can find information relating to car specs from their chassis codes? I have a UK spec EK4 97 Civic VTi just wondering what the differences are i know goes upto EK9 Type R. Was ther an EK5,6,7,8 also? All these different hondas seem very confusing i have serched about internet without much luck any help would be great thanks
