check engine light on help

ive had my 97 civic for a while now only light on the dash was the SRS light then one day my check engine light just came on while i was driving so i went to auto zone for a free diagnostic reading and they hooked it up but said there was no power to my computer or something that it wasnt working or getting power to the scanner , this is my first car and im learning pretty quick but i dnt know what would be wrong that the diagnostic reader isnt getting any power or not working any advice or similar situations ? ( ive also went to 2 autozones both werent able to get the obd2 scanner to work on my car)

Jump the service connector to pull the codes in the meantime.

Is your Civic bone stock? What engine and ECU?

how do i jump the service connector? lol but yeah all stock just have a full exhaust and stage 1 clutch w. a D16y7 my ECU says P2E

Click the codes link in my signature.

Also check whether hood fuse 43 is blown. It supplies power to the DLC.
