Check for warped head/block

Me and my friend picked up a full b18a1 swap for a turbo build. From disassembly it appears the engine burned oil and ran rich (we plan to rebuild anyways). Getting to my question now, I will check to see if the head or block is warped at the machine shop I work at. How much play is acceptable for the head/block surface? I read that a general rule for aluminum is 3 thousandths of an inch?

Not sure how to edit but I meant to say no more than 3 thou

Aren't you going to have it milled anyway? Why take the risk?

Cause I work at a machine shop and it took 10 minutes. Surface was perfect so end thread
