So i have been doing a lot of research lately into how i am going to get this whole flashing lights to work. I think i have it figured out, using a simple tip 31 i can convert audio signals to 12v electric pulses, now this is easy, i have already had this working in my car. the problem is that too much frequency is hitting the leds, meaning they just light up all the time, basically, they flicker a bit but thats really all they do, so im trying to isolate certain frequencies, like the bass, wich on average is anywhere from 20-140hz, so im going to isolate 60hz and see what happens. to do this im going to construct a low pass filter, wich is actually really simple and just uses a resistor and capacitor in parallel. so if i combine that will my tip 31 transistor only the low frequencies will be converted to 12v pulses and so the leds should only light up on the bass hits. This idea can be extrapolated for all the other frequencies, high, mid, and low, Though i dont think that the leds would look all that cool if they were being hit with the mid and high, might just wind up being on all the time like before, anyways im going to hit up radio shack for some parts(dont want to wait for ebay lol) and see how it goes. hopefully if this works out i can have that diy i promised oh so long ago. anyways just an update of whats going on. peace.
