civi/engine swap question.

Ok so I still am stuck on deciding which civic to get. I'm looking at hatchbacks from 99-03ish my price range is about 7 grand no higher. Ive found a couple of civic si's in my price range with about 60k miles and then some other hatchbacks for much cheaper about 3 grand but not si's. Down the road im looking to engine swap (prolly B18, I dont think I have enough skill for a k20 swap) would it make sense to buy an si with low miles or a normal hatch (forget which models) with really high miles for cheap and swap a b18. Also once the si engine dies would it even be worth throwing a b18 motor in there? Would a b18 make more power then a stock si engine? All in all I'm just wondering what you guys would do in my situation lol

-thanks

Just buy the DX, you're 16. No need to be balls to the wall.

go with the 96-00 civic hatch. they aren't considered "sport" trims so your insurance won't hit the fan, and they will accept a b18 swap easy as pie. if you go newer than '00 you cross a line into a completely different chassis and K-series swap realm. much more expensive all the way around

Alright and the motor mounts with the B series line right up right? Also how hard is it to turbo a B18?

Yep a B18 should bolt right in. Which B18 you plan on boosting is going to determine how effective it is. The motor in your link is a high compression all-motor setup, and is prob not the best choice for boost. I recommend looking into an LS B18B and going the LS/VTEC route instead

Go 96-00 hatch throw a b in it and be done for the time being. si will jump your insurance and over 2000 you messing with k series which takes alot of skill and money.
Not tryin to sound mean, but do you have the mechanical skill knowledge time and tools to swap the motor or are you paying someone else to swap it for you.

Ya I don't have the knowledge to do a k swap, I'll be able to do the b swap but it'll be a learning process for me. I've never pulled an engine in my life before but I'm a smart kid I'll figure it out. Thanks for not being to harsh though
