Just got myself (and proudly so) a Honda Civic 1.4 and I'm now looking into its origins.
The vehicle was manufactured in '97, first registered in '98 according to DVLA.
Its an R reg 1396cc
Now, here's the part where i'm getting stuck: after looking through the spcs and the engine codes on here and a bit of googling I find that this car should have a 1.6 according to year of man' (i think) and the engine code (D14A8) refers to an engine built after 2000.
So has this car had its block replaced, previous work does not show this however all engine codes/manufactured engines with vehicles show as 1.6 from what i've found. And looking for an owners manual keeps taking me to american vehicles, the owners manuals on here don't work with chrome or firefox - even when you click the page numbers, and the strange thing is when i purchased it - it did have a load of cents/dollars in the drivers side compartment (co-incidence)
What I'm trying to find out here really I suppose before I start doing anything to the car at ALL is its origins.
Some other codes on the plater under the bonnet: e11*96/27*0067*00
Any help greatly received!!
Want to move on from this as I am looking to drop it an " or two and get a wrap color job done on it firstly then move into the tech & mech's.
