Civic Confusion

hey guys i found this add for a jdm civic and im confused b/c the chasie code says ek4 and makes it seem like a 6th gen. hatchback and the pics arent up yet, but then the year is 95. were there the 6th gen. civics made in 95 in japan? anyways here is the thing and please help me sort this out. thanx

EK's are all 96-00......they may have put the wrong chassis code.

actually 1996 models were out already in 1995... how are car model years done in japan? because in chile, they do them by when you purchase the car (if it's a current model).. say i bought a civic right after a fiscal year ends, the car would have the next year's year on it.

yes, in japan the cars were out a year earlier than usdm. the eg-aka 5th gen ran from 91-94. so ek did come out in 95 for japan.

Mines an 1996 EK4, but it was made late 1995. Says so on my Vin plate. It was first registered on 03/01/96. This is EUDM so theyed have them already on JDM.
