Civic EX vs Dodge Dakota

My friend just bought a 2003 Dodge Dakota 3.7L V6 and he thinks that it will be faster than my 98' EX. His truck is a 4WD single cab model that is bone stock. My civic runs the factory D16Y8 and I have a SRI with a 4-2-1 Header and 2.5" Cat Back Exhaust. As far as a drag race goes, who do you believe will win? I have the upmost faith in my civic but I realize that the power difference with his truck makes it competible, what do you guys think?

Dude your ex is 106 hp stock with a header and cat back we can even say 120 hp and his truck v6 with let's say 160 or so do the math. Civic aren't fast cars untill you dump money in them.

my car is 127 stock and his truck is 210 stock and its a v6 which im not doubting is quick but i figured i would at least be able to somewhat keep up at least to about 60 or 70 but like i said we havent actually done it yet. just a shot in the dark on this thread really cuz i dont really know how my car stacks up to my friends vehicles at all.

yea there is a huge power diff, but that extra 90 horse is also pulling an extra 2000 lbs. so just "doing the math" isnt gonna get you a result. 127 horse outa 2300lbs compared to 210 horse outa 4000 lbs is actually pretty close. you wanna do math that would be like the dakota is having 115 horse on 2000 lbs.

you have a d16y8 its not a f**kin race car. it was made for good gas mileage not power, dont be another douche who owns a civic that talks up a 1.6 sohc vtec pushing 120 crank hp...

your car weighs like 2500. if you can take off 500lbs with you in it, you might have a chance :]
