when i start up my car and begin to go or backup or sometimes even roll my civic will make a wierd screatching/yelling sounding noise and then stops. also when i drive my car will make a squeaking type noise and it will stop for a second when i apply the brakes and then continue. it sounds like its coming from the front left side. could both of these problems be my brake pads or what?

sounds like it could be your belts...timing belt, alternator belt, a/c belt. They can cause a squealing noise

I need new brake pads I'm almost positive but the noise it makes when I start it up and about to go sounds like the things little kids get a partys that they blow into called like a kazoo or whatever the other thing is you blow into and makes that loud annoying noise. No joke. It's annoying as hell..the other squeaking noise is when I'm usually driving on the highway. It stops when I apply the brakes but when I let go it continues...

guess you've never heard the different sounds accessory and serpentine belts can make. Also, loose bolts that are working their way out can cause a high pitched squeal...and the squeal is usually caused by engine vibration. \I've been dealing with these cars for a long time....
