Civic seats re-uppolstery question

So I just picked up this civic, and was wondering if I could somehow do the door panel DIY mod to the seats, because I really don't like the whole 90's design. If not is there anyway I could just unzip and trace the pattern onto another fabric that way?

Also can I re-upholster the ceiling easily?

i personally would leave it to the professionals to re-upholster it. if you really dont like the seats, why not go to a salvage a get the seats from maybe a 2000 civic? or maybe delsol or integra seats. thats what i would do. but just my .02

If you try to replace the fabric with yourself, It might not end up properly. Try to go to a real professional if you want the best results.
