Civic SI 2000 em1 b16a Boost or Swap

I have a 2000 civic si and I was wondering what would be the better route to go with it to make it quicker. It has nothing done to it except a cold air intake and it has low miles on it. I know this has probably been asked a lot and I was just thinking that I would throw it up here anyways. If it helps I was looking to spend no more than 2k on it and if that factors into it I don't want anything crazy just fast enough to keep up... Thanks for your time.

well, if you swap id go k-series. If your not into an endeavor that large, then boost it. If you do swap though, ill take the old motor.

thanks for such a quick reply, but I just don't know what will be more efficient for the money. People I know are saying LS/Vtec but that seems like a waste of money because I already have the b16 and If I do go boost I don't know anything about what kind of kit to get and what psi I should run. Its a lot easier to keep your car N/A but forced induction makes more power for cheap, i'm really torn.

Thanks for all the help I think I might boost it, I thought about buying a turbo kit off ebay but im pretty sure the 1k kits are horrible. I was going to look into a turbonetics or greddy kit and I have someone who can install it and tune it for free so its just the problem of buying the kit.

Piece together your own turbo kit for around $1000 and make it what you want.

And if you REALLY want power/boost that bad, sell your B16 and use the cash to buy a D16 and the leftovers to go towards a turbo. Or trade your B16 for a D16 + cash.

2K wont get you far, I went with basically the most expensive parts money can buy for my turbo project, parts, and tune cost me $8000, I know, I'm nuts, but its an autox car, and its going to be running for many years to come!
