I have the factory installed sunroof on my civic. Sure its nice...i guess. But the motor is starting to get a little shady, and to be honest if i want air in my face, id rather let the window down. Plus that whole assembly, motor and glass are pretty hefty. maybe i am making this up but doesnt somebody make a plexiglass (or someother material like lexan) sunroof panel filler for the eg civic? Im really interested in picking something like that up and ditching the old heavy stuff. Any of you heard of this?

but still, THE RIVOTS, that sounds like my roof is gonna warp or something evil bad.
what i would really like to find, ideally (probably nobody makes this, but they should) is a lexan, or other clear flexible plastic that replaces the sunroof, it just doesnt have a motor, but you could still pop the back up to vent or something. Enough to decrease the weight but not significantly alter the car (i.e. rivots), so it couldnt be retrofitted back to stock. The outside of my car may look terrible but the thought of hot metal being punched through my car makes me feel woozy. the more i think about it, i can probably just have my friends at my shop help me build that. but if anyone knows of one premade, its always good to get ideas from. please let me know if you see something similar. thnx

go to your nearest honda dealer. they should have someone that comes by every so often that does sunroofs. our guy does the pop up lexan ones and he also does the power ones. it is easy to convert to a moon roof or whatever else. do you still want the glass see through affect? there is always a way to do it.
