When its done, stand back in all your shining glory and swollen forearms.

f**k elbow grease! Buy an angle grinder with a steel wire brush and smooth everything out. For real though, I would just use engine greaser with a good brush (not a wire brush, to abrasive) that will not fall apart.

What I used was a scotch brite pad, non chlorinated Brake Kleen.. afterwards some ailver or aluminum colored engine paint.
