Coated my headers!

Since spring is almost here, I bought a new set up DC headers to replace the DC header I have on now. I finally got around to coating my new one, just to give a little more added protection in preserving the finish and to slow corrosion. I had access to a high temp paint from my fathers work. So I bought a quart for $20.00! Anyways, I hooked up the spray gun, gave them a few coats, let them dry over night, then baked them for 1 1/2 @ 400 degrees, let them cool, then baked them for 45min @ 250, let them cool again, and here's what I got! Very pleased with the results, first time I have coated a header. Let me know what yeah think and if theres anyone who has questions, let me know I'll be glad to help!

Before coating the header

Ready to be baked!

Finished results!

They are not as shiny as the factory ceramic coating, but I'm more for the sleeper/low profile look than bling, bling. Overall this took me 2 days to do and only $20.00!

I really think that anybody who says "headers" in reference to their Civic should be banned from modding their car.

Header, my mistake, or should I have said 4-2-1 one piece? I believe most of the people get the gist of what I mean.

Yes, everybody gets the gist of what you meant. But itsjust annoying to see it day after day after day. Like pmac said, just one header. When you have one cylinder bank, such as an I4, you have one header. When you have two cylinder banks, such as a V6 or V8, you have two headers.

Oh and good job on coating it, hopefully it will help last longer.

Indeed, sorry if I came off wrong in the post. I know exactly what you mean, It's just so common place to say headers, versus coming off and posting correctly saying "header" I guess complacency takes over, which sometimes can be bad.

oh..... who gives a f**k. call them what you want. Only weak nerds care about s**t like that. Anyway, you could have probably just saved some time and money spraying it with header paint. looks good tho! :thumbs up

Thanks guys! Yeah I thought about using header paint, but I've used this stuff on other engine components and it's tuff as nails.

i think the white header vs a polished one would stand out more.

I agree, and you don't have to worry about cleaning it, since it's flat in color, no fingerprints! Also can someone help me out and explain how you place a link/ create a page to display your pics of your ride? I've seen others with links under their signatures and stuff. Thanks!
