Cobra radar detector

i jus got a radar detector 2day....plugged it in/turnd it on but Nothing happend...so i go to advanced auto thinking it might b a fuse so i buy the fuse put it in and stilllll nothing happend...so im wonder wtf is wrong wit it ?1998civic dx incase that helps anyting out..if u think u kno whyy please let me kno

was the radar detector brand new...? check the wiring that goes to your 12 volt acc/cig lighter.

naa i got it from my boy but i made sure it workd before i got it from him like i seen it workin in his car 5 min before i bought it from him then i tried it in mine n it didnt work

definitly check the wiring in your car...and make sure you got the right fuse.

Not trying to be an ass but if it's one of the cheaper cobras (weather its working or not) isn't really gonna matter much. The cheaper units provide little to most of the time no warning @ all.

As far as not working sometimes the cigg. plug may not make good contact try moving it a bit and see if it powers up or like the others said make sure you have the right fuse!

1) check contact

2) check cars fuse panel

3) check fuse thats inside the detectors plug (top part should unscrew)

As above, double check your cig lighter. It may be disconnected.

Yes thank you, like I said not trying to be an ass just the cheap unit's range is really horrific!
