i have a 2004 Honda Civic EX (D17A2) and i want to prepare it to put in a Turbo kit later on in the year. i understand that i have to lower the compresion ratio, what all do i need to do? any info will be helpfull, Thnx
More specifically, just plan on the entire bottom end if you are doing that.
Bearings, rods/pistons, balance and blueprint...a micropolish on the crank...get it done right.
I'm going with 9.0:1 CR..If your putting a big ass turbo on it then maaaaybe 8.5:1 but 9.0:1 should be just fine...you can find some good deals out there too
u would be fine wit jus swappin out pistons, u could get a medium size turbo and push about 15 pounds and be fine if u got lower compression pistons, 9.0:1 should be good try to shoot for the b18b1 compression a lot of people turbo those motors cause of the compresssion, thats what i would do, jus make sure u go wit a lil head work, after that, cams, valve springs, retainers ect. u should be good man jus make sure u do ur research
