Convert to obd2 or just find obd2 motor?

Like the title says guys I got a d16z6 swap that I wanna drop into my ej8. Only reason is cause I have a full turbo kit waiting to go on it and the motor I. My car now has almost 200k. Also the z6 has about 100k on it.

Should I convert the z6 to obd2 or just look for a d16y8?

I have everything to convert to obd2 as I'll just take them off and swap them. Only part I don't have is a jumper harness to run the p28 ecu.

Will I still be able to pass inspection with the p28 and if not can I run the p2p just for inspection purposes?

Thanks in advance

might be a hassle, but you can just take the turbo kit off when it comes time to do emissions..most tuners will not tune on obd2..there are programs out there that allow for it such as Apexi Power FC(which can turn off the check for sensors as well)
i'd recommend getting the jumper harness and getting tuned with the p28 ecu

That's what I planned on doing but would I be able to pass emissions with the p28? I'm in ny so I need to pass that for a legal inspection.

I was thinking put/convert all the parts to obd2 (alternator, 2nd o2 sensor, etc) onto the z6 then when inspection time comes hook up my p2p ecu and inspect it like a normal 96+ vehicle.

if im getting this right, you'll have to have the p2p ecu tuned to run your set up as well..and not everyone will tune obd2

Check out mad fab lab his website is madfablab.com he has the easiest thing to convert it over its a plug that you harness plugs into and then turns into the plug you need for your ecu and it won't matter for inspection they don't look at your ecu they look over the car and make sure it's road worthy and safe

For emissions it shouldn't matter but mad fab lab you can buy whatever ecu you need for Honda and he will chip it for whatever setup you have doesn't matter turbo or n/a he can set you up

Thanks 2slo I'll prolly just end up getting the p2p tuned, just have to find a tuner.

And eg: in new york we have to hook our cars up to a computer so i don't know if running an obd1 ecu in an obd2 car will show up for emission purposes.
