Can anyone give me the low down on a 1998 Honda Civic DX? I know they arnt much for mods, but I'm looking for a daily driver and this one looks almost brand new and it has very low mileage. The guys asking $4900 for it. Is it a deal or should I go on to the next? Anything would be appreciated thanks! =)

Are you SURE that it has 40k miles? Just because the odometer reads 40k does not mean the car itself has 40k. Do a carfax, tell us what you get. Do you have any pictures?

I would be real cautious about that one. I know it's a 13 year old car, but the engine bay does not look like it only has 40k miles. Look deeper.

i would pass, its a auto, and the miles are too low, seems a bit sketchy, not to mention they want 5 grand for it

Definitely looks more than 40k miles.

It's A Automatic... If U Plan On Moding It I Say On To The Next 1... My 2 Cents...
Seriously? What if you DID come across a decent shaped low-mileage Civic, wouldn't an auto-to-manual swap be worth it?

its very easy to roll back miles. Do what victor said. Get a carfax.

^^ Win.

But seriously, I would say that's almost definitely not the actual mileage on that car. The engine bay alone is wayyyy too dirty and unkempt to be only 40.000 miles old. Unless all 40,000 miles of that car's life were spent on straight dirt roads, it's not legit.

just did a quick scan of the carfax on it ....it shows 20 reports on it ....i would either look deeper on it and have the dealer pull the carfax for you so u can have them pay for it or pass on the car .... never know if it was wrecked or not ... seems too good to be true to have on 40 k on it

its to much money for it either way you can pick up exs and si's for less than what they want for a dx.
